Annual 5k Walkathon

We are hosting our 2nd Annual 5k Walkathon. Below is all the information you will need if you are looking to be part of this event. There are several ways to take part and help Youth Unlimited YFC Lincoln. The first way is to take part in our event. If this is the way you would like to help, please read the below information and contact Peter. Another way is to sponsor someone who is taking part in the event. All the staff is taking part, so if you would just like to show your support feel free to sponsor one of their teams! Lastly, if you own a business or know of a business looking to make a donation towards a local non-profit we are looking for business sponsors that can get advertisements through this event, social media and more!

Thanks so much for your interest in taking part in our 2nd Annual 5k Walkathon. Your participation will help make our fundraiser a huge success! Enclosed you will find all the information you will need to help raise funds for Youth Unlimited YFC Lincoln. Remember, the individual that raises the most amount of money will win a prize! We encourage everyone to try and raise at least $150. Anyone who raises $150 or more will get a t-shirt to wear for the day of the event. Once you raise over $150, please contact us ASAP so we can add your t-shirt size to the order.

This event will take place on July 9th, 2022. We will be meeting at the Upper Deck Youth Centre at 2pm to start our walk, and we will do our walk in a group, if restrictions allow us. If we are unable to do our walk as a group, we will all do our walks separately wearing the t-shirts and take pictures of ourselves doing the walk. We ask that you post these pictures on instagram or facebook with #YFCLincoln5k.

We have set our goal this year at $15,000 and we are confident that, with your help, we will be able to reach, or even surpass that goal! Included in this package is a folder where you can raise funds, but we will also set you up with a donation link that will be specific to your own fundraising efforts so you will be able to keep track of what you have raised so far. Any donation over $20 will be eligible for a tax receipt, if it’s cash or a cheque. 

During the event if you follow along on our instagram or facebook, we will be doing draws for prizes for those who raise funds for us. Every $50 you raise gets you another ballot in our draw and surpasing milestones gets you more ballots. Passing $250 gets you an extra 2 ballots on top of the $50 interval ballots. The $500 milestone gets you an extra 5 ballots, and over $1000 will get you an extra 15 ballots.. Your participation will help make our fundraiser a huge success!
